Valerie Hauss-Smith
A native of France, Valerie was a founding member of La Chimere Theatre Company
in Alsace where she performed original plays both in French and German.
She obtained her BFA at the University Of Strasbourg and came to the United States
where she studied voice and the English classics. Valerie has undergone intense
training with Shakespeare & Company in text work and Linklater voice.
Her other training includes Meisner technique, stage fight, clowning, commedia,
masks, improvisation, and street performance. Her directing credits include
classical and original works for such organizations as Shakespeare Dallas,
North Lake College and Junior Players. As a teacher, she specializes in
Shakespeare text work, voice, audition coaching, and improvisation.
Valerie has performed on stages in Europe, the North East, and Texas; and is
now the Director of Education & Training for Shakespeare Dallas where she
develops educational programs for students from elementary to college level
and training programs for professional actors.
